Ironman verdict

Nature rune is a free-to-play item. Other players trade it, but an Ironman cannot use the Grand Exchange or trade, so you get your own. We list 9 monsters, 6 shops, 3 recipes and 8 other sources for it.

The easiest way is to buy it: the cheapest of the shops that stock it is Magic Guild Store (Runes and Staves) in Wizards' Guild, at 180 coins each. You can also make it with 44 Runecraft from Pure essence at a nature altar. Each one made gives 9 Runecraft XP. That is the lowest-level of its 3 recipes. If you would rather kill for it, the lowest-level monster that drops it is Goblin (Goblin Village) (level 5), at 1/128, about one in 128 kills. The best rate is from Basilisk Sentinel (level 358): 6/52, 15–30 at a time. The 9 monsters we list with a combat level range from level 5 to 1,024. It also comes from 8 other sources, such as Mystery box and Crystal chest. It is on the easy, medium and hard clue scroll reward tables, so every clue of those tiers you complete is a chance at it.

It is a material in 45 recipes, for example Banana (15 Magic), Bones to bananas (tablet) (15 Magic) and Emerald bolts (e) (27 Magic). High Alchemy (55 Magic) turns one into 108 coins. Each cast uses a nature rune, 180 coins from a rune shop, and five fire runes that a fire staff replaces, so an alch loses about 72 coins; only alch it to clear space.
