Ironman verdict

Body rune is a free-to-play item. Other players trade it, but an Ironman cannot use the Grand Exchange or trade, so you get your own. We list 9 monsters, 6 shops, 3 recipes and 8 other sources for it.

The easiest way is to buy it: the cheapest of the shops that stock it is Aubury's Rune Shop in Varrock, at 3 coins each. You can also make it with 20 Runecraft from Rune essence at a body altar. Each one made gives 7.5 Runecraft XP. That is the lowest-level of its 3 recipes. If you would rather kill for it, the lowest-level monster that drops it is Goblin (level 2), at 5/128, about one in 26 kills. The best rate is from Flesh Crawler: 19/100, 3–12 at a time. The 7 monsters we list with a combat level range from level 2 to 162. It also comes from 8 other sources, such as Mystery box and Crystal chest. It is on the beginner and easy clue scroll reward tables, so every clue of those tiers you complete is a chance at it.

Among the bosses we cover, The Leviathan drops it. Shops stock it in 5 places, including Varrock, Port Sarim, Wizards' Guild and Lunar Isle.

It is a material in 5 recipes, for example Restoration pool (65 Construction), Revitalisation pool (70 Construction) and Rejuvenation pool (80 Construction). High Alchemy (55 Magic) turns one into 1 coins. Each cast uses a nature rune, 180 coins from a rune shop, and five fire runes that a fire staff replaces, so an alch loses about 179 coins; only alch it to clear space.
