Combat minigames
Fight monsters or other players. Most of these keep your items when you die.
- Barbarian AssaultMembers · Hardcore-safeIronmen come here for the Fighter torso, a free strength body that stays in melee setups for most of the game, and the role hats. It needs a team of five, so find a group in the minigame chat. Deaths are safe.
- Castle WarsFree-to-play · Hardcore-safeCapture the flag between two teams. Tickets buy decorative armour and cosmetics, none of which an Ironman needs, so play it for fun or diary steps. Deaths are safe.
- Last Man StandingFree-to-play · Hardcore-safeFree PvP practice with gear the game hands you, so it costs an Ironman nothing. Rewards are cosmetic, but it is the safest place to learn switches before risking the Wilderness. Deaths are safe.
- Nightmare ZoneMembers · Hardcore-safeFight quest bosses again for points. Ironmen use it for AFK melee training with absorption potions, and spend points on imbues, herb boxes and scrolls of redirection. You need five of the listed quests done first. Deaths are safe.
- Pest ControlMembers · Hardcore-safeThe usual first ranged upgrade: Void Knight equipment boosts accuracy and damage and stays useful for years, especially once the hard Western Provinces diary upgrades it to elite void. Points can also buy herb, mineral and seed packs. Deaths are safe.
- Soul WarsMembers · Hardcore-safeZeal tokens turn into combat XP, which is handy for levelling Defence or Prayer without risk, and Spoils of war hand out supplies an Ironman cannot buy. The Ectoplasmator gives a little Prayer XP when you kill things. Deaths are safe.
- Bounty HunterMembers · dangerousTargeted PvP in the Wilderness. Dangerous and of little use to an Ironman; skip it on a Hardcore.
- Clan WarsFree-to-play · Hardcore-safeClan-on-clan PvP in Ferox Enclave with item-safe portals. Nothing to earn for an Ironman; the free pool next to it is the main draw.
- Emir's ArenaFree-to-play · Hardcore-safeDuels against other players. Rewards include imbue scrolls and blighted supplies, but an Ironman gets the same imbues more easily from Nightmare Zone or Soul Wars.
- Intelligence GatheringMembers · dangerousRaid gang meetings across Kourend for intelligence. A small source of planks and training manuals; deaths are normal.
