Ironman verdict

Steel full helm is a free-to-play item. Other players trade it, but an Ironman cannot use the Grand Exchange or trade, so you get your own. We list 9 monsters, 2 shops, 1 recipe and 3 other sources for it.

The easiest way is to buy it: the cheapest of the shops that stock it is Helmet Shop in Barbarian Village, at 550 coins each. Across the 2 shops that take coins, the price runs from 550 to 715. You can also make it with 37 Smithing from 2 × Steel bar at an anvil. Each one made gives 75 Smithing XP. If you would rather kill for it, the lowest-level monster that drops it is Donny the lad (level 34), at 1/128, about one in 128 kills. The best rate is from Animated Steel Armour (level 46): 9/10. The 6 monsters we list with a combat level range from level 34 to 202. It also comes from 3 other sources, such as Young impling and Young impling jar. It is on the beginner clue scroll reward table, so every beginner clue you complete is a chance at it.

The material you can buy or make: Steel bar (2 needed), made with 30 Smithing.

It is worn in the head slot; its biggest bonuses are +10 slash defence and +9 stab defence. Shops stock it in 2 places, including Barbarian Village and Sunset Coast.

It is a material in 1 recipe: Ardougne knight helm. High Alchemy (55 Magic) turns one into 330 coins. Each cast uses a nature rune, 180 coins from a rune shop, and five fire runes that a fire staff replaces, so an alch nets about 150 coins.
