Across the 4 shops that take coins, the price runs from 2,600 to 2,860. You can also make it with 66 Smithing from 3 × Mithril bar at an anvil. Each one made gives 150 Smithing XP. If you would rather kill for it, the lowest-level monster that drops it is Smoke devil (level 160), at 2/128, about one in 64 kills. That monster also has the best drop rate we list. The 2 monsters we list with a combat level range from level 160 to 280. It also comes from 8 other sources, such as Broken armour and Reward Chest (The Gauntlet).

It is worn in the legs slot; its biggest bonuses are +24 stab defence and +22 slash defence. Shops stock it in 4 places, including Al Kharid, Prifddinas, Civitas illa Fortis and Jatizso.

No recipe in our data uses it as a material. High Alchemy (55 Magic) turns one into 1,560 coins. Each cast uses a nature rune, 180 coins from a rune shop, and five fire runes that a fire staff replaces, so an alch nets about 1,380 coins.
