Ironman verdict

Occult necklace is a members item. Other players trade it, but an Ironman cannot use the Grand Exchange or trade, so you get your own. We list 3 monsters for it.

The lowest-level monster that drops it is Smoke devil (level 160), at 1/512, about one in 512 kills. The best rate is from Thermonuclear smoke devil (level 301): 1/350. The 3 monsters we list with a combat level range from level 160 to 301.

It is worn in the neck slot; its biggest bonuses are +12 magic attack and +5% magic damage. Our gear guide counts it as a mid-game neck for magic (it needs 70 Magic to use): where it fits in your progression. Among the bosses we cover, Thermonuclear Smoke Devil drops it, and it is one of the drops we flag as worth chasing there.

It is a material in 1 recipe: Occult necklace (or). High Alchemy (55 Magic) turns one into 27,000 coins. Each cast uses a nature rune, 180 coins from a rune shop, and five fire runes that a fire staff replaces, so an alch nets about 26,820 coins.
