Mithril chainbody

Mithril chainbody is a free-to-play item. Other players trade it, but an Ironman cannot use the Grand Exchange or trade, so you get your own. We list 9 monsters, 4 shops, 1 recipe and 8 other sources for it.

The easiest way is to buy it: the cheapest of the shops that stock it is Horvik's Armour Shop in Varrock, at 1,950 coins each. Across the 4 shops that take coins, the price runs from 1,950 to 2,535. You can also make it with 61 Smithing from 3 × Mithril bar at an anvil. Each one made gives 150 Smithing XP. If you would rather kill for it, the lowest-level monster that drops it is Harpie Bug Swarm (level 46), at 2/128, about one in 64 kills. The best rate is from Werewolf: 10/512. The 7 monsters we list with a combat level range from level 46 to 202. Duke Sucellus drops it already noted, which saves inventory space on a trip. It also comes from 8 other sources, such as Vampyre Juvinate and Liam.

The material you can buy or make: Mithril bar (3 needed), made with 50 Smithing.

It is worn in the body slot; its biggest bonuses are +42 crush defence and +35 slash defence. Among the bosses we cover, Duke Sucellus drops it. Shops stock it in 4 places, including Varrock, Falador, Jatizso and Keldagrim.

No recipe in our data uses it as a material. High Alchemy (55 Magic) turns one into 1,170 coins. Each cast uses a nature rune, 180 coins from a rune shop, and five fire runes that a fire staff replaces, so an alch nets about 990 coins.
