Iron kiteshield

Iron kiteshield is a free-to-play item. Other players trade it, but an Ironman cannot use the Grand Exchange or trade, so you get your own. We list 9 monsters, 2 shops, 1 recipe and 1 other source for it.

The easiest way is to buy it: the cheapest of the shops that stock it is Shields of Mistrock in Mistrock, at 238 coins each. You can also make it with 27 Smithing from 3 × Iron bar at an anvil. Each one made gives 75 Smithing XP. If you would rather kill for it, the lowest-level monster that drops it is Cave slime (level 23), at 2/128, about one in 64 kills. The best rate is from Skeleton heavy (level 130): 8/128. The 9 monsters we list with a combat level range from level 23 to 166. It also comes from Simple lockbox.

The material you can buy or make: Iron bar (3 needed), made with 15 Smithing.

It is worn in the shield slot; its biggest bonuses are +10 slash defence and +9 crush defence. Shops stock it in 2 places, including Mistrock and The Summer Shore.

No recipe in our data uses it as a material. High Alchemy (55 Magic) turns one into 142 coins. Each cast uses a nature rune, 180 coins from a rune shop, and five fire runes that a fire staff replaces, so an alch loses about 38 coins; only alch it to clear space.
