Ironman verdict

Adamant sq shield is a free-to-play item. Other players trade it, but an Ironman cannot use the Grand Exchange or trade, so you get your own. We list 8 monsters, 2 shops, 1 recipe and 8 other sources for it.

The easiest way is to buy it: the cheapest of the shops that stock it is Cam Torum Blacksmith in Cam Torum, at 3,840 coins each. You can also make it with 78 Smithing from 2 × Adamantite bar at an anvil. Each one made gives 125 Smithing XP. If you would rather kill for it, the lowest-level monster that drops it is Ice giant (level 67), at 1/62, about one in 62 kills. The best rate is from Wyrm (level 97): 2/76. The 8 monsters we list with a combat level range from level 67 to 374. It also comes from 8 other sources, such as Crystal chest and Barbarian Assault/Gambles.

The material you can buy or make: Adamantite bar (2 needed), made with 70 Smithing.

It is worn in the shield slot; its biggest bonuses are +26 slash defence and +24 stab defence. It is a reward from Barbarian Assault. Shops stock it in 2 places, including Cam Torum and Mistrock.

No recipe in our data uses it as a material. High Alchemy (55 Magic) turns one into 2,304 coins. Each cast uses a nature rune, 180 coins from a rune shop, and five fire runes that a fire staff replaces, so an alch nets about 2,124 coins.
