Ironman verdict

Black chainbody is a free-to-play item. Other players trade it, but an Ironman cannot use the Grand Exchange or trade, so you get your own. We list 3 monsters, 2 shops and 8 other sources for it.

The easiest way is to buy it: the cheapest of the shops that stock it is Wayne's Chains! - Chainmail specialist in Falador, at 1,440 coins each. Across the 2 shops that take coins, the price runs from 1,440 to 1,872. The best rate is from Gangster: 8/256. It also comes from 8 other sources, such as Vampyre Juvinate and Liam. It is on the beginner clue scroll reward table, so every beginner clue you complete is a chance at it.

It is worn in the body slot; its biggest bonuses are +39 crush defence and +32 slash defence. Shops stock it in 2 places, including Falador and Keldagrim.

No recipe in our data uses it as a material. High Alchemy (55 Magic) turns one into 864 coins. Each cast uses a nature rune, 180 coins from a rune shop, and five fire runes that a fire staff replaces, so an alch nets about 684 coins.
