Smoke rune

Smoke rune is a members item. Other players trade it, but an Ironman cannot use the Grand Exchange or trade, so you get your own. We list 9 monsters, 3 recipes and 3 other sources for it.

You can make it yourself with 15 Runecraft from Pure essence, Fire rune and Fire talisman at an air altar. Each one made gives 8.5 Runecraft XP. That is the lowest-level of its 3 recipes. If you would rather kill for it, the lowest-level monster that drops it is Wingman Skree (level 143), at 8/127, about one in 16 kills. The best rate is from Thermonuclear smoke devil (level 301): 10/107, 100 at a time. The 8 monsters we list with a combat level range from level 143 to 1,238. It also comes from 3 other sources, such as Essence impling and Essence impling jar.

No recipe in our data uses it as a material. High Alchemy (55 Magic) turns one into 12 coins. Each cast uses a nature rune, 180 coins from a rune shop, and five fire runes that a fire staff replaces, so an alch loses about 168 coins; only alch it to clear space.
