Ironman verdict

Iron javelin is a members item. Other players trade it, but an Ironman cannot use the Grand Exchange or trade, so you get your own. We list 5 monsters, 3 shops and 1 recipe for it.

The easiest way is to buy it: the cheapest of the shops that stock it is Void Knight Archery Store in Void Knights' Outpost, at 6 coins each. Across the 3 shops that take coins, the price runs from 6 to 7. You can also make it with 17 Fletching from 15 × Iron javelin tips and 15 × Javelin shaft. Each one made gives 30 Fletching XP. If you would rather kill for it, the lowest-level monster that drops it is Kalphite Worker (level 28), at 1/128, about one in 128 kills. The best rate is from Jungle horror (level 70): 2/129, 5 at a time. The 4 monsters we list with a combat level range from level 28 to 89.

Materials you can buy or make: Iron javelin tips (15 needed), made with 21 Smithing; Javelin shaft (15 needed), made with 3 Fletching.

It is worn in the ammunition slot; its biggest bonus is +42 ranged strength. Shops stock it in 3 places, including Void Knights' Outpost, Marim and Ranging Guild.

It is a material in 3 recipes: Iron javelin(p), Iron javelin(p+) and Iron javelin(p++). High Alchemy (55 Magic) turns one into 3 coins. Each cast uses a nature rune, 180 coins from a rune shop, and five fire runes that a fire staff replaces, so an alch loses about 177 coins; only alch it to clear space.
