Ironman verdict

Bronze longsword is a free-to-play item. Other players trade it, but an Ironman cannot use the Grand Exchange or trade, so you get your own. We list 4 monsters, 4 shops, 1 recipe and 1 other source for it.

The easiest way is to buy it: the cheapest of the shops that stock it is Varrock Swordshop in Varrock, at 40 coins each. Across the 4 shops that take coins, the price runs from 40 to 48. You can also make it with 6 Smithing from 2 × Bronze bar at an anvil. Each one made gives 25 Smithing XP. If you would rather kill for it, the lowest-level monster that drops it is Chaos druid (level 13), at 1/128, about one in 128 kills. The best rate is from The Whisperer: 1/100, 16, 24 (noted) at a time. The 3 monsters we list with a combat level range from level 13 to 25. The Whisperer drops it already noted, which saves inventory space on a trip. It also comes from Rusty sword.

The material you can buy or make: Bronze bar (2 needed), sold at Shantay Pass Shop for 8 coins.

It is worn in the one-handed weapons slot, attacking every 5 ticks; its biggest bonuses are +7 melee strength and +5 slash attack. Among the bosses we cover, The Whisperer drops it. Shops stock it in 4 places, including Varrock, Shayzien, Civitas illa Fortis and Warriors' Guild.

No recipe in our data uses it as a material. High Alchemy (55 Magic) turns one into 24 coins. Each cast uses a nature rune, 180 coins from a rune shop, and five fire runes that a fire staff replaces, so an alch loses about 156 coins; only alch it to clear space.
