DPS calculator

Pick a monster, build up to three loadouts and compare max hit, accuracy, damage per second and time to kill in one table. Load your RSN to use your real levels, and each loadout shows the best set from our Ironman gear guide you can wield right now.

Loading the item table…

What it models

  • Prayers and potions, Slayer helmet (imbued for ranged and magic) on task, elite Void.
  • Crystal armour with the Bow of faerdhinen, Twisted bow scaling with the target’s Magic level, dragon hunter lance and crossbow, Arclight and Emberlight.
  • Scythe of vitur multi-hits by target size, Osmumten’s fang accuracy, Tumeken’s shadow (outside raids), tridents and the Sanguinesti staff, Tome of fire, elemental weakness to Fire spells.

What it leaves out

  • Special attacks, thralls and venom or burn damage.
  • Fight mechanics: phases, prayer switching, downtime, healing, overkill on the last hit. Time to kill is the monster’s HP divided by your DPS.
  • Defence reduction (dragon warhammer, elder maul, bandos godsword) and boosts that drain during the fight.
  • Salve amulet, obsidian, Barrows, Inquisitor’s and other set or slayer-type effects, except the ones listed as modelled.
  • Enchanted bolt procs, Dark bow double shots, Venator bow bounces, chinchompas and salamanders.
  • Powered staves other than the tridents, Sanguinesti staff and Tumeken’s shadow; Ancient Magicks and other spellbooks (we cast the best Fire spell).
  • The small magic damage bonus from Mystic Might, Mystic Vigour and Augury (their accuracy bonus is applied).
  • Attack stances: melee uses aggressive, ranged uses rapid.
  • Tumeken’s shadow’s stronger effect inside the Tombs of Amascut, and other raid-only item rules.

Common questions

How is time to kill worked out?
The monster’s Hitpoints divided by your damage per second. It assumes you attack without pause from the first hit to the last, so real kills take longer once you add walking, prayer switches, phases and banking.
What does “Ironman route at your levels” mean?
We run every item in our Ironman gear guide that you can wield at your levels, plus a basic kit any Ironman can make, through the same maths, and show the strongest set for that style. Each item links to how an Ironman gets it.
Why does my number differ from another calculator?
This tool covers the core formulas and the big item effects listed on the page. Where an effect is not modelled we say so next to the loadout rather than guess.

Item bonuses and monster stats come from the Old School RuneScape Wiki (CC BY-NC-SA 3.0). The formulas, wording and Ironman suggestions are our own.
