Steel mace

Steel mace is a free-to-play item. Other players trade it, but an Ironman cannot use the Grand Exchange or trade, so you get your own. We list 7 monsters, 4 shops, 1 recipe and 7 other sources for it.

The easiest way is to buy it: the cheapest of the shops that stock it is Flynn's Mace Market in Falador, at 225 coins each. Across the 4 shops that take coins, the price runs from 225 to 292. You can also make it with 32 Smithing from Steel bar at an anvil. Each one made gives 37.5 Smithing XP. If you would rather kill for it, the lowest-level monster that drops it is Black Knight (level 33), at 1/128, about one in 128 kills. The best rate is from Ork (level 107): 5/128. The 4 monsters we list with a combat level range from level 33 to 132. It also comes from 7 other sources, such as Simple lockbox and Elaborate lockbox.

The material you can buy or make: Steel bar, made with 30 Smithing.

It is worn in the one-handed weapons slot, attacking every 4 ticks; its biggest bonuses are +13 crush attack and +11 melee strength. Shops stock it in 4 places, including Falador, Shayzien, Warriors' Guild and Civitas illa Fortis.

No recipe in our data uses it as a material. High Alchemy (55 Magic) turns one into 135 coins. Each cast uses a nature rune, 180 coins from a rune shop, and five fire runes that a fire staff replaces, so an alch loses about 45 coins; only alch it to clear space.
